This is very sensible with a number of caveats, presuming:

1) The organization is large enough to have a recruiting head with substantial authority

2) Upper management recognizes and admits there is a problem

3) Upper management is prepared to hire more experienced, strategic recruiters and are prepare to implement their recommendations.

Thank you, Steven. Recruiters do not hire and fire people- hiring managers do. If companies were truly serious about hiring and retention, they would make prompt, quality hiring a deliverable for-

and long-term retention a responsibility of hiring managers, with results linked to a meaningful component of their compensation.
